About the Artist

I am a Canadian born, long-time artist and newcomer to the gallery scene who has always loved to draw and paint. I am mainly self-taught and my earliest works were rendered in pencil, charcoal, ink and watercolour.

I obtained formal art training at the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto. While there, I was introduced to acrylics and soon became aware of the dramatic effects and interesting textures which could be achieved by using this medium.

Currently I have been focusing on painting, exploring different techniques, which has included the addition of man made, and natural objects. I like incorporating sand, rocks, ceramics, glass and beads to create effects that invite the viewer closer.

The mediums utilized for my work dictate my style. The graphite used for my portraits demand a precise and steady hand, watercolours call for more flexibility, and acrylics give me permission to be creative without restraint.
